Coronavirus: Critics call on Canada to changes rules around point-of-entry quarantine

Air passengers arriving in Canada start their mandatory two-week quarantines once they reach their final destination, regardless of how many connecting flights they took, as long as they’re symptom-free.

The federal government has said the risk of infection in-flight is low, but studies in an upcoming journal from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest the risk is real.

Other countries, including New Zealand and Australia, have made point-of-entry quarantine mandatory.
