On tonight’s top story: There are growing reports of chaos and confusion at designated hotels where travellers arriving in Canada are required to quarantine. From long line-ups, to expensive bills and guests leaving their hotel rooms, Jeff Semple reports on the mounting trouble over the strict new rules.

Plus, lockdown restrictions are being reinstated in two Ontario regions shortly after leaving the province’s strictest pandemic measure. A rise in COVID-19 and B117 variant cases is to blame. Morganne Campbell reports on the frustration over Ontario’s approach to managing the pandemic.

The U.S. has authorized Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. As Jennifer Johnson reports, the approval follows a rise in COVID-19 cases linked to new variants.

COVAX, the global initiative to help get COVID-19 vaccines to poorer countries, has sent the first shipment to Africa. However, there is still a long road ahead. Crystal Goomansingh reports.
