The cost of living further squeezing Canadians’ wallets, as the inflation rate soared to 6.8 per cent in April, a new 31-year high. Eric Sorensen looks at how consumers and businesses are coping with rising food prices, and what it may take to cool inflation.

Concerns are growing about almost 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers who have surrendered to the Russians at the Azvostal steel plant in Mariupol, Ukraine. Redmond Shannon reports on how they’re supposed to be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war, and what Turkey wants now that Finland and Sweden are trying to join NATO.

Back in Canada, Prince Charles and Camilla were in Ottawa for the second day of their three-day tour of Canada for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Abigail Bimman reports on their jam-packed day, and how some people were either very excited or very displeased about the royal couple’s visit.

A First Nation in eastern Alberta is piecing together its past, after discovering unmarked graves near the site of a former residential school. The Saddle Lake Cree Nation unearthed what they believe are the partial remains of several children who attended blue quills Indian residential school. And it’s feared there could be many more.
