History and QWERTY

From The History Guy.

On June 23, 1868, a patent was granted by the US patent office to C Latham Sholes, Carlos Glidden and Samuel Soule of Milwaukee. While you would likely be familiar with its modern counterpart, the device itself sees very little use today. And yet, that patent changed the world in so many ways, and likely affects almost all of you on a daily basis.

This is original content based on research by The History Guy. Images in the Public Domain are carefully selected and provide illustration. As very few images of the actual event are available in the Public Domain, images of similar objects and events are used for illustration.
