Influencers Glamorizing Cities May Lead to Bad Urban Planning

From Internet Impact.

The story of the successful influencer is a familiar one. One day they were making videos in their bedroom, the next they’re a star propelled by a video that went viral. Typically, the next step for this influencer is often a move to a city such as Los Angeles, New York, or as of recent Austin, Texas. There seems to be a common theme among young stars who stumble upon internet fame. They HAVE to leave the suburbs in order to succeed. While the move is innocent and natural, this glamorization and romanticization of city life may undermine current Urban planning movements for walkable cities not so centered around cars.
